I have stayed here before, it's still a well priced hotel. Fairly clean, good value venue, the location was magnificent just off the two main rail stations in a lively area as well as the market round the corner that was a sort of food market with all sorts of cheeses. The most excellent staff I ever met. Liked their hot drinks, served in the courtyard bar.

The best thing about this hotel is that it is very close to the gare de l'Est as well as the gare du Nord.
The carpet on the floor as well as on the walls in the room did unfortunately not give a very clean impression. The rooms didn't seem to be soundproofed at all - from the bathroom I could hear everything that was said in the room next door.
